As a Washington wedding photographer, I find my wedding couples through referrals, word of mouth, Google, etc. However, my favorite is when I get to photograph my friends.

The bride, Amanda, is a dear friend of mine who I met during my college days at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. We attended retreats together, girls nights, and lots of other fun events!

Amanda met her fiancé Chad through Catholic Match- and they were a match indeed. They may have initially bonded over their faith, but they connected on so many other levels as well.

The Love Story

Chad proposed to Amanda at Mukilteo Lighthouse which is actually a tourist attraction. Built in 1950 on a filled tideland, it has provided continuous public beach access. It is truly a picturesque place to visit for all. Chad chose it because this is where he and Amanda went on their first date. So, on their first-year anniversary, he suggested a picnic lunch. He told her he wanted to get some photos of the two of them at the lighthouse. There were rose petals on the ground at the spot where he told her he wanted them to do their pictures. He presented her with a rose and proposed near the white picket fence by the lighthouse.

The Day of The Wedding

There was no question this couple’s wedding ceremony would take place in a church. The most important part of the ceremony they wanted me to capture was the first time they took communion as a married couple. It was a sacred moment, and such a big commitment to their faith.

Their reception took place in the Grand Ballroom on the grounds of the navy base in Everett, WA. Her colors were lavender and metallic blue. The two dancing panda bears on their wedding cake added a touch of whimsy to their dessert table which I found adorable. The grand American flag draped behind the wedding party table added a touch of drama to the occasion and filled attendees with the patriotic spirit.

I was thankful to share in my friend’s happiness and provide beautiful wedding photos for the two of them to enjoy for years to come.
